Official data from Netflix’s TOP 10 website reveals that ‘Doctor Slump’ garnered an impressive 2.9 million views and an astonishing 10.2 million viewing hours from January 29 to February 4.
This exceptional performance has propelled ‘Doctor Slump’ to the summit of Netflix’s Global TOP 10 TV series list, surpassing its competitors on a worldwide scale. Significantly, the drama claimed the top position in nine countries, including South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The drama made a strong debut by entering the top 10 rankings shortly after its release. However, it exceeded expectations by claiming the global number-one spot within just two weeks of its broadcast.
The remarkable chemistry and heartwarming story woven by Park Hyungsik and Park Shin Hye have been highlighted as pivotal factors contributing to the drama’s phenomenal success.
The last four episodes, in particular, showcased the characters’ deep care for each other, generating excitement among viewers and achieving the drama’s highest viewership rating of 6.7% (Nielsen Korea, nationwide standard for paid households).
Alongside ‘Doctor Slump,’ other Korean dramas also left their mark on the Netflix rankings. tvN’s drama ‘Captivating the King,’ featuring Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung, secured the sixth position with 1.4 million views and 8.4 million watch hours.
SBS’ ‘My Demon,’ starring Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung, claimed the seventh spot, while the Netflix series ‘The Bequeathed’ ranked ninth, and JTBC’s ‘Welcome to Samdali-ri,’ starring Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun, rounded out the top 10.
