Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover were open about the challenges of their long-distance relationship before announcing their December 2024 breakup. They made it clear that they were committed to making it work, despite living in different cities. In an October 2024 interview with Us Weekly, Conover expressed that they spent as much time together as possible and were patient with one another. He also emphasized that both New York and Charleston were great places to be, and their relationship required effort.
Their journey together began in February 2021 while filming Winter House. Although they initially connected, their romantic relationship didn’t start until May of that year. After three years together, Paige confirmed on her “Giggly Squad” podcast that they had broken up, despite previous denials from Conover regarding any rumors. Paige expressed that the decision was mutual and for the best, sharing deep respect and admiration for Craig.
The issue of location had been a recurring challenge. Paige, who was very attached to New York City, struggled with the idea of leaving her family. Conover, on the other hand, hoped she would move into his Charleston home. Despite this challenge, the couple remained optimistic about their future, even discussing marriage. Conover pointed out during an interview that they both had successful careers and while they weren’t living together yet, they were focusing on building their individual successes before coming together.
In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly in September 2024, Conover acknowledged that living in two different cities could be difficult but said they were not allowing the uncertainty of the future to affect their happiness. He highlighted the flexibility they had through travel and technology, which allowed them to spend time in both cities. He also mentioned that they wouldn’t make decisions about where to live permanently until they had children.
Throughout their relationship, they found ways to make their long-distance setup work. Paige referred to Craig as her “sweet, sweet, sensitive, childlike boyfriend” and spoke fondly of their time apart, noting that they had developed a good rhythm in their long-distance relationship. While Conover was aware that Paige wasn’t ready to move to Charleston full-time, he expressed his gratitude for their connection and the support they offered each other.
Friends and family also had thoughts about the couple’s future. Summer House star Amanda Batula predicted that Paige would eventually move to Charleston to be with Conover, following in her mother’s footsteps with a lifestyle focused on entertaining and hosting events.
Conover had also mentioned the possibility of living together in a 2022 interview, sharing his excitement about making changes to his home to prepare for the future with Paige. However, despite their intentions to take their relationship to the next step, the couple ultimately decided that they were better off apart.
