The Overlord [Shin] Sekai-hen manga has entered an indefinite hiatus after artist Matsuki announced that they had been hospitalized and will require additional time for treatment and rest.
The update was shared on October 7, 2026, bringing the series to a pause while Matsuki focuses on their recovery. The manga is currently serialized through Kadokawa’s KadoComi platform, which also published the official hiatus announcement.
Matsuki apologized to readers for the interruption and confirmed that the manga will eventually return. However, there is currently no scheduled date for the next chapter. The artist also intends to use the break to prepare for future production while recovering.
OVERLORD: NEW WORLD MANGA HAS NO RETURN DATE YET
Matsuki said the decision was particularly difficult because the manga had only recently entered the Holy Kingdom Arc. Despite the hiatus, the artist assured readers that the series “will definitely resume” once they are ready to return to work.

The manga continues the story of Ainz after his victory at the Katze Plains and the establishment of the Sorcerer Kingdom. The original Overlord manga adaptation, written by Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Ōshio, began in 2014 before its first part concluded in 2023.
The hiatus leaves the latest Overlord manga without a confirmed publication schedule, with readers now waiting for Matsuki’s recovery and a future announcement regarding its return.
