About Darl+ing: Seventeen’s first single
The track is accompanied by a memorable video that is loaded with symbolism and lovable interactions. The video opens on a light note with the boys living their lives in a lush paradise. There is bright sunlight pouring in and the visuals will make your heart skip a beat! Slowly darkness in the form of shadows starts seeping in. Furthermore, their worlds start crumbling down and they turn a blind eye to life. Destruction is widespread and their lives are a storm. However, as the track progresses, they realize, once again, the beauty of their existence and work towards taking off the blindfolds!
The lyrics of ‘Seventeen’s English single’ are just as hard-hitting. They speak of the loneliness and deprivation one would feel without a companion to lean on. However, This companion does not have to be a love interest. They can be a friend, a parent over even your idol! The warm words of the ‘English single’ can magically lift you from any sort of trouble and push you in the right direction.
The boys of Seventeen are extremely excited about this ‘English single’ as it is new territory for them and they cannot wait to see how fans respond to them. They have put in a lot of effort and thought right down to the title of the song. Although the track is titled, Darling. There is a plus sign linking the two halves of the word. Vernon said that this signifies a connection. The one that exists between idols and their fans, between lovers, and even between members of a family!
