Our Blooming Youth Episode 17 will air the following week! This historical K-drama, which premiered on February 6, 2023, is based on Ce Ce Qing’s “The Golden Hairpin” novel, featuring Jeon So Nee and Park Hyun Sik as the main characters. The K-drama, which has 20 episodes planned, is eventually wrapping up with just 4 left to air.
Our female lead, Min Jae Yi, embodies everything a decent daughter of a respectable family ought to be: calm, collected, and kind to everyone. Jae Yi, who is engaged to the Second State Councilor’s son, takes her circumstance with charm and grace because she realizes that if she were to decline the marriage contract, it would not reflect favorably on her or her family.
In order to preserve her family’s honor, Jae Yi does all that she has to prepare for her marriage. As she actively plans for the future, she devotes herself to learning everything she needs to know to be the ideal wife and mother for her future in-laws.
However, fate had other plans for her, crushing her hopes and dreams for the future. Jae Yi’s family is killed four days before her wedding. With no one else to blame but the sole survivor of such a horrific tragedy, Jae Yi is now the main suspect in the crime because no one else is coming forward to be the perpetrator of the unanticipated tragedy.
Lee Hwan, our crown prince and male lead, who is cursed by a supernatural being, agrees to aid Jae Yi—but only if she is willing to help him reverse the curse that has been haunting him for years. Jae Yi, knowing she has no other option in her tragic circumstance, takes the Prince’s offer because she has no other choice but to comply with his demands.
As they set out on a quest to exonerate Jae Yi and lift Crown Prince Lee Hwan’s curse, their relationship develops from that of casual friends to that of blossoming lovers.
Our Blooming Youth Episode 16 Recap (Spoilers!)
Our Blooming Youth Episode 16 opens with the Queen Consort learning about her father’s and Jo Won Bo’s evil scheme. It happened right after the Grand Prince had allegedly seen the late Crown Prince’s spirit. The Queen, however, advised her son that nobody should be aware of it, not even the King.
The Queen was afraid that if the advisors and councilors discovered that he was the one who gave the Crown Prince the poisoned fruit, her transgression would be exposed. The young prince, however, disclosed that he was told to give the Crown Prince a peach by his grandfather, Jo Won Bo, which was revealed in this episode. This made Queen Consort enraged that her father had used her son in his evil scheme.
On the other side, Min Jae Yi and Jang Ga Ram could be in danger, according to Crown Prince Yi Hwan. He admitted to knowing about their dual identity to Jang Ga Ram. He also cautioned her not to go on tasks by herself and to stay close to his master at all times.
The Crown Prince assigned Tae Gang, his Guardian Warrior, to locate a location for Min Jae Yi outside the court as part of his overall strategy. Yi Hwan was confident that she would shortly reveal her identity to clear her name at this point.
