Oprah Winfrey is carrying on her amazing purple wardrobe! At the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday, the 69-year-old entertainment powerhouse looked like a queen in a striking purple custom Louis Vuitton dress and matching shoes.
She co-produced the movie “The Color Purple,” which the group eloquently honored. Oprah attended the event to present in addition to endorsing the film, for which Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks received nominations.

Oprah has donned a number of purple ensembles during “The Color Purple” promotion. During the press tour, she made a playful allusion to Barbie’s impact on the color pink by telling PEOPLE, “I’m doing for purple what Barbie did for pink!”
She wore a custom silk jersey gown by Dolce & Gabbana on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere on December 6. The dress had a sleek slit, a flowing train, and a square neckline.
Oprah accessorized her look with shoes, a ring, and a glittery purple clutch. She said to Entertainment Tonight, “It’s not one thing, it’s everything,” in response to a question regarding her more toned appearance on the red carpet.
Oprah Winfrey and her healthy lifestyle
In her PEOPLE magazine feature, Oprah talked about how she uses weight-loss medication along with regular exercise to maintain a healthy weight. She described her daily schedule, which included eating her last meal at four o’clock, drinking a gallon of water every day, and adhering to Weight Watchers’ point-counting guidelines.
Although Oprah no longer feels the need to demonstrate her willpower, she used to have doubts about weight-loss pills.
Oprah made a statement in a sequin suit at the Elle Women in Hollywood awards ceremony on December 5, adding pops of purple to her handbag, heels, and ring. She recommended on Instagram that if one doesn’t have a purple dress to wear to “The Color Purple,” they should choose purple accessories, just like she did.

The renowned talk show host, who has a 25-year history, dazzled in yet another custom Dolce & Gabbana gown with long sleeves and a sequin-covered design for the Academy Museum Gala on December 3. With a ring from Effy Jewelry and bold, shoulder-grazing earrings from Hamilton Jewelers, she upped the glamour.

Her first celebration of purple occurred on November 15 at the National Book Awards, where she wore a plum dress with sleeves embroidered with plumes.
The film in question is a Broadway musical that won a Tony Award and was adapted from Alice Walker’s 1982 novel. It had its theatrical debut on December 25 and quickly gained popularity, becoming the second-highest Christmas Day opening in history.
Oprah played Sofia in the first movie, which came out in 1985. For her ground-breaking performance, she was paid $35,000 and nominated for an Academy Award.
As she considered the first movie, Oprah told PEOPLE, “Doing the [original] film was the most important thing that had ever happened to me and continues to be a central theme in my life.”
She emphasized how important the film was to her journey and how it shaped her understanding of giving up, working hard, and letting go. The film was nominated for eleven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Whoopi Goldberg.
After giving it some thought, Oprah declined to make a brief appearance in the 2023 film, saying to The Hollywood Reporter, “I thought it would also be distracting when Sofia is getting married that if the old original Sofia was just one of the people in the church.”
