The global popularity of ONE PIECE reached another major milestone in the United States as Toei Animation opened the first-ever ONE PIECE Fest at Cosm Los Angeles. The limited two-day event, held on August 25 and 26, welcomed thousands of fans into what Toei describes as the largest ONE PIECE location-based entertainment experience ever created outside Japan.
Fan demand was already enormous before the event began. According to Toei Animation, nearly 500,000 entries were submitted during the ticket lottery after ONE PIECE Fest was announced in April, while the event eventually opened to a sold-out audience. The festival was developed as a new immersive experience celebrating Eiichiro Oda’s manga, Toei Animation’s long-running anime, and the franchise’s live-action adaptation.
Held across 95,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, ONE PIECE Fest brought fans directly into Monkey D. Luffy’s world. The event marked a major step for Toei Animation as the studio continues expanding ONE PIECE beyond television and film into large-scale interactive entertainment.
Fans Entered a World Spanning Every Major ONE PIECE Arc

ONE PIECE Fest recreated all 19 major anime arcs, from East Blue to Elbaph, as individual immersive environments. Visitors were given maps and allowed to explore the different areas in their preferred order, creating a self-directed experience rather than following a fixed route.
The festival included a wide range of interactive attractions inspired by the Straw Hat Pirates and their adventures. Fans could visit experiences such as the GEAR5 and Sabaody Lounge, Usopp’s Target Range, the Davy Back Fight Punching Machine, Shanks’ Straw Hat Donning experience, and Zoro’s Three Sword Style activation.
A major part of the experience was Cosm’s Dome, which features an 87-foot-diameter LED display covering 5,000 square feet. Toei Animation developed ONE PIECE Fest specifically around Cosm’s shared-reality concept, allowing the franchise’s world to surround visitors through massive visuals and immersive environments.

Beyond its interactive attractions, ONE PIECE Fest featured live panels, musical performances, screenings, exhibitions, photo opportunities, and special installations. The event was designed to celebrate the franchise across several forms of entertainment rather than focusing only on the anime series.
Fans could also explore the ONE PIECE Bazaar, which offered licensed merchandise and event exclusives. The market included collectible figures, toys, trading cards, apparel, drinkware, and other ONE PIECE products.
The Los Angeles event followed shortly after ONE PIECE DAY ’26 in Japan, where the franchise revealed two future theatrical projects. The announcement confirmed ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY for 2027 and ONE PIECE FILM BAAD for 2029.
With ONE PIECE Fest drawing such overwhelming interest before its opening, the event demonstrated the franchise’s continued global growth. The successful launch could also set a new direction for anime location-based entertainment outside Japan, especially as major franchises look for new ways to create experiences that go beyond traditional screenings and conventions.
