– Chapter 1148: “Ronia”
short chapter with 15 pages
– Cover story: “The pilgrimage of yamato, the oni child”
– Vol. 33: “On the way to hakumai to return to kawamatsu. The hat entrusted to me by o-tama”
– Gunko forces Ronia toward a cliff edge making the kids feel tension.
– Ylva: “you’re right above the underworld! come back, Ronia! this is dangerous.”
– Ronja remains calm, reassuring others: “everything’s fine! no problem!”
– Gunko tells sommer that “the first child is ready to fall.”
– Sommer: “Perfect! make sure all of elbaph hears this voice! if in 30 seconds you still haven’t decided… i’ll drop the first child! jarul with the peak beard! order the teachers… to burn the school and the library down!”
– The giants respond that sommers is crazy and that the library contains texts left behind by generations over thousands of years. But some argue that children’s lives are more important.
– Giants arguing: “the problem isn’t their demands? it’s the decision we have to make… to surrender or not to these guys! and other saying it better to save the kids and stop their game.
– It takes us back to robin saying to chopper that he need to stay here hiding and not fight them
– Robin then says she can’t control herself anymore and will attack.
– We hear nami saying that even the worst won’t take children hostage.
– Ripley, franky, and the other giants go to save the kids they split into groups
– Sommers continues his speech, saying:”For the simple and clear reason that what we wish to destroy. when you burn the school and the library, make sure not a single book survives… your culture…and your history!”
– Robin appears and attacks him using “one hundred flowers”
– A fast hand appears and strikes his face
– Sommers falls face-down, then robin uses four hands to grab his neck and try to break his back (she pulled his neck back, and he bleeds from the mouth)
– Robin realizes they can’t defeat him because they are immortal
– Sommers gets back up and fixes his neck
– Sommers reminds them that 20 seconds remain before the first hostage falls
– Robin holds sommers with her body and jumps off the cliff
Sommers: “Are you trying to kill yourself or what? your feelings move me, but i have no desire to join you in the afterlife!”
Ussop: “Robin?? what is she doing…?”
Robin: “I know full well you’re immortal… if your damn invisible thorns disappear, we can save the children!”
Sommers: “So you think that by throwing myself into the void… the kids will be out of my power’s reach?”
– Then he attacks her, but it looks like it’s a clone
– Robin goes to unbind the crew
– We hear sommers saying: “10 seconds left… I need an answer, Jarul!”
(Gunko makes them listen to the children’s voices)
– Gunko: “Say something!”
– Ylva: “Lord jarul… i love school and i have a lot of friends there. I love the library too, because the books teach us so much about the world. and my teacher taught me… we shouldn’t hurt other people or do things they don’t like. The school and the library can disappear so i can save my life… but i think that would hurt everyone! lord jarl, don’t worry about me!”
– Ylva is trembling and crying, saying she’s been lucky
– Sommers counts down to zero
Sommers: “3… 2… 1!”
– Jarul tells them to burn the school and the library
– Sommers returns and holds robin
– We then see sommer’s hand get cut off, but this time it doesn’t grow back
Sommers: “it’s been a long time, gaban!”
– In the last frame, gaban slashes sommer’s chest (he used haki too)
– Gaban’s last frame shows him looking super angry!!!

That image of Sommers being attacked by Gaban is part of the EPIC final double-page spread of the chapter, and is about 1/4 of the way through the double-page spread (which has more scenes).
In the panels right above the image (which are cut off) is where we see Gaban speeding up and cutting off Sommers’s hand without him being able to see him. And in one of those panels, Sommers himself looks at his severed hand and literally says * What? Its not regenerating .”
Then Gaban runs up to Sommers again and says “It’s been a while ” (implying they’ve known each other before) and Sommers screams in a very scared way * Scopper Gaban!!! “right before Gaban attacks him (which we see in the panel). And the episode ends with Gaban’s face looking ultra-angry after attacking Sommers.
