We were sure that this would be the chapter where we would see Oda continuing with the current story on Egghead Island and showcasing the fate of the Straw Hats and Bonney in this chapter. The leakers and the fans had predicted that something big would happen in the said chapter too.
However, Oda continues to display child Bonney’s past and how she desired to venture into the world and be with her father. It also turned out that there was no big reason why Kuma was present in the Fusha village. He just happens to be there, but he looked at Luffy and probably saw something in him.
This chapter is again emotional as Bonney waits for years to hear from her father, but Alpha does not let a single letter be read and burns them all. As Bonney’s treatment is all completed, we see how she sets for the adventure and even knocks out Alpha in Luffy’s style and is ready to set sail.
Now fans of the series truly wonder what is next for the series and what is going to be displayed in the next issue of the manga. One Piece Chapter 1102 is going to be the one to be featured in the 4th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine of 2024, which will be released following a break next week.

Recap
One Piece Chapter 1101 is titled “Dear Bonney,” and the chapter continues with a flashback of the Kuma arriving at the Fusha Village. He gets a look at Luffy but does not indulge in a conversation with him which could explain how Luffy also does not know about him.
We also see a glimpse of Dragon where he tells Kuma that if he is mentioning his child, then he may as well kill himself, given that a child is a parent’s weak spot.
As Kuma’s treatment continues to showcase how he is turning into a human-cybrog, he has been writing letters to Bonney. However, we see that none of the letters ever reached her because Alpha was burning each one of them.
Meanwhile, we see Vegapunk making his clones, and Stussy comes into existence. The chapter pretty much continues with the progression of the flashback and as Bonney turns nine and half a year old with her disease being treated, with the help of the queen, she escapes to the new world in search of her father and while doing so, she also launches a knockout punch on him.
