Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine recently announced an upcoming novel focusing on Roronoa Zoro from the beloved series One Piece. This novel, titled “Zoro – Josho Sasakaze,” will get into the life of the Pirate Hunter prior to meeting Monkey D. Luffy and joining the Straw Hat Pirates.
One Piece, a flagship shonen title for Shueisha, has surpassed 1000 chapters and remains immensely popular. Zoro, known for his prowess with swords and unwavering loyalty, ranks as one of the series’ most cherished characters, second only to protagonist Luffy.
Zoro’s Pre-Straw Hat Adventures
The novel promises Zoro’s backstory before his fateful encounter with Luffy. When audiences first met Zoro, he was already an accomplished swordsman, earning bounties by hunting down pirates.
The narrative may shed light on his early adventures and the relationships that shaped him, including his bonds with former bounty-hunting partners Johnny and Yosaku.
ONE PIECE Magazine Vol. 18 will be a Special 'Wings' Feature for Zoro and Sanji. The issue will include a special poster, in-depth character information, and stickers.

Fans are eager to learn more about Zoro’s heritage, as it was revealed in the animanga series that he descends from the Shimotsuki Clan of Wano.
This lineage could explain Zoro’s natural affinity for swordsmanship, adding depth to his character. The novel is anticipated to provide further insight into his family background.
In related news, the next volume of the One Piece manga will feature special content focusing on Sanji Vinsmoke and Zoro, including a dedicated poster and stickers, which fans eagerly await.
This additional material will no doubt enhance the excitement surrounding the series.
