In a surprising promotional video, two biggest names in the anime history teamed up to promote an upcoming movie. Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and Son Goku from Dragon Ball joined forces to promote Dragon Ball Super Broly which will be released this December. Is it safe to expect that a similar thing would happen in One Piece 20th Anniversary Movie?
Dragon Ball Super Broly Promotional Video
After the last episode of One Piece was aired last Sunday, a new video featuring Luffy and Goku was also released. The promotional video is actually from two different clips, but the scenes were merged as one to make Goku and Luffy appear to be talking to each other.
In the video, Luffy said “I’ll leave this winter to you, Goku” in which Goku answered, “Yeah, leave it to me.” The video will then proceed to show clips from the first trailer of Dragon Ball Super Broly. New scenes of Goku and Broly exchanging blows are also shown. Super Saiyan Blue Goku is on par with Broly’s Anger form.
Dragon Ball Super Broly will be released on December 14 this year, and it seems like Luffy is a supporter of this movie. Is this a hint for a bigger project to come? Years ago, a project which made Goku, Luffy, and Toriko joined a contest just to taste the ultimate meat. Will there be a new collaboration between One Piece and Dragon Ball?
One Piece 20th Anniversary Movie
Speaking of One Piece, the long-running Shonen show is expected to be having a new movie next year. There is still no new info about the movie except for the fact that it is expected to be released in 2019. The movie is for the 20th-anniversary celebration of the One Piece anime. If it happens that Dragon Ball Super anime will be back at the same time the One Piece 20th-anniversary movie will be released; we might also see Goku promoting the movie too. One Piece and Dragon Ball Super shares the same animation studio, Toei Animation.
One Piece is currently gearing up its Luffy VS Katakuri fight in the next episode. Dragon Ball Super anime is expected to come back after the movie showing this December 14.
