Once Upon A KATAMARI is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, with Bandai Namco Entertainment America also releasing the new Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC across all platforms. Announced on October 8, 2026, the launch brings the latest entry in the Katamari franchise to Nintendo’s newer console with upgraded visuals, smoother framerates, and exclusive mouse controls.
The DLC expands the game with 10 quests and music inspired by the mobile title Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE. Players can roll through streaming-themed challenges, meet new cousins, and collect objects to help the King maintain his popularity.
Both releases are available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 edition also supports save-data transfers from the original Nintendo Switch version, provided no existing save data is present on the new system.
The launch gives players another way to experience the franchise’s distinctive mix of absurd object collection, memorable music, and playful customization.
ONCE UPON A KATAMARI ADDS NEW SWITCH 2 FEATURES
The Nintendo Switch 2 version introduces mouse controls alongside improved graphics and smoother performance compared with the original Switch release. Players upgrading from the Nintendo Switch version can transfer their save data, as long as the destination console does not already contain save data for the game.
The adventure follows the Prince as he travels through different periods, including the Jurassic Era, the Ice Age, and historic Japan. Players roll their Katamari to collect objects and restore the stars after the King of All Cosmos accidentally destroys them. The game also features character customization, power-ups such as a magnet, and competitive multiplayer through KatamariBall.

The Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC brings content inspired by Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, the franchise’s mobile game. Its 10 quests and accompanying soundtracks revolve around livestreaming, with players helping the King stay relevant, impress his fans, and increase his popularity.
The DLC is available across the same platforms as the base game, giving players on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam access to the new content.
