Unnoticed by the online community, ‘Three Ways To Survive The Apocalypse’ turned out to be a literary gem with an amazing 3149 episodes but a view count of 1. In the long run, who would immerse themselves in a massive web novel?
However, despite the boredom, Kim Dok Ja, an unlikely protagonist, rose to attention. His hard journey through the detailed story took a whole ten years, concluding in the dramatic climax. He had no idea that this fairly unnoticeable web novel had profound secrets about himself.
Kim Dok Ja then received a mysterious message that said, “There are three ways to survive the apocalypse,” after finishing the last chapter. The narrative came to an end with these mysterious lines, leaving Kim Dok Ja to consider his increased understanding of his place in the plot as it was unfolding.
Given the feeling of being alone that characterizes his life, Kim Dok Ja considers the strength and independence that his father bestowed upon him more as a curse. The web novel, with its sad conclusion, was particularly dear to Kim Dok Ja.
Kim Dok Ja was moved by feelings of gratitude and decided to write to the author, never imagining that his reply would change the direction of his life. In addition to expressing gratitude, the author sent Kim Dok Ja a sign of appreciation for his solo commitment.
Kim Dok Ja had no idea that this note of gratitude would be sent at the very moment the webbook became paid content. In the next few minutes, Kim Dok Ja had been transported to the world inside of the book and he alone held the knowledge of how this world would end.
Recap
We previously saw in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint Chapter 195 that from now on Kim Dok Ja will be reading everything again. His father had really done something bad enough to die for and what his mother did was self-defense. But only later on does Kim Dok Ja realize that all she said was lies.
The decades’ worth of suffering he had to face alone with that one sentence had turned into something she could never forgive for Kim Dok Ja.
Kim Dok Ja contemplates if or not he should be using lie detection. But if he uses lie detection to confirm it, what if she was telling the truth? Would he be able to handle the truth? Or what if it was a lie? Was he ready for that?
Pissed, Kim Dok Ja asks his mom about why she never told him these things before and if she actually loved him, why did she choose to not meet him though he came to visit her multiple times.
Kim Dok Ja also adds that it felt like hell to him wherever he went. Whenever he went to school or met with someone, it felt like the whole world was talking about him as the son of a murderer.
Maybe, just maybe, if Kim Dok Ja’s mother had said just one word of encouragement to him if she had told him to hold on a bit longer, if she had said that it would be bearable, even if she had sold his story for money, if only she had told him that she was on his side, things would have been better.
