The premiere date of the Sengoku Youko TV anime has been revealed
Speaking of new releases, Sengoku Youko is getting an anime. As mentioned before, the announcement for the anime adaptation was made earlier, and the trailer was released a few weeks ago. The manga of the same was written by Satoshi Mizukami.
The manga was originally featured in Mag Garden’s monthly comic Blade. It was featured there from 2007 to 2014. After that, it was switched to comic blade web manga from 2014 to 2016 when the final chapter was published. The manga as mentioned is finished and is widely read by people from all around the globe.
Due to its wonderful plot, art, and wide readership, it is now getting an anime adaptation. The adaptation was announced earlier, but recently the release date was also disclosed.
The anime is set to air on Tokyo MX, ABC TV, and Nagoya TV on January 10, 2024. It will air on BS Asahi two days later on January 12. The anime will air on Wednesdays on Tokyo MX at 12 AM JST.
The anime is assumed to have 37 episodes which will cover the entire manga and will be a complete adaptation. It will have two arcs, the World Reform Siblings arc and the Thousand Demons Chaos arc.
It will be divided into three cours which will air over a quarter of the year. It is going to be released in such a manner because it would be a complete adaptation.
The plot as well as the characters of Sengoku Youko will remain the same as the manga. The manga is set in the Samurai Age in a dystopian world.
In the anime, the world is divided into two factions, the humans and the monsters called Katwara. The Katawara eat the humans and the humans in return hunt them down. Both factions do not get along and are considered enemies.
However, Tama despite being a Katawara seems to have a great affection for humans. On the other hand, her brother, Jinka, who is mostly a human, hates humans. The sibling duo is joined by a cowardly swordsman named Hyoudou Shinsuke.
They embark on a journey together and come across a variety of characters. However, in their travels, they also uncover some deep-buried secrets and fickle plotting. The manga covers their journey as they seek to solve those mysteries.
The director of the anime would be Kaya Aizawa. Yosuke Okuda, Shinpei Kobayashi, and Yohei Yaegashi are responsible for the animation of Sengoku Youko. The production would be handled by White Fox.
