Odell Beckham Jr., recently released by the Baltimore Ravens, has reportedly had a positive meeting with the Miami Dolphins, as per the Miami Herald. This development comes as the Dolphins, previously constrained by cap space limitations, freed up $11 million after linebacker Bradley Chubb agreed to restructure his contract.
Beckham, 31, returned to the field in 2023 after a season-long recovery from an ACL injury suffered during Super Bowl LVI. Despite the setback, he played a pivotal role in helping the Ravens secure the AFC’s top seed for the playoffs, demonstrating his value on the gridiron.
In Super Bowl LVI, Beckham’s performance was cut short due to injury, but prior to exiting the game, he showcased his impact potential by contributing two receptions, including a touchdown. Additionally, in the NFC title game, Beckham’s skill was evident as he amassed 113 yards on 9 receptions, affirming his ability to shine in critical matchups.
Should Beckham join the Dolphins, he is likely to assume a role akin to his previous stints with the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens as a key contributor in the receiving corps, potentially serving as a No. 3 option behind standouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
His potential addition would undoubtedly bolster the Dolphins’ offensive arsenal and provide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with another dynamic target. Tagovailoa showcased his prowess last season, leading Miami to a second consecutive playoff berth while amassing the league’s highest passing yardage at 4,624 yards.
