Developed by Hong Seok-woo, the workplace drama series Numbers will be coming out with a new episode soon. Now that Kang Hyun, one of the most honest workers in Taeil’s Audit department, is out of the picture, the company seems to be heading toward more corruption and deceit in the hands of VP Han Je-gyun.
Airing on television since June 23rd, 2023, Numbers is a drama and revenge-themed series that revolves around Jang Ho-woo, a young yet extremely smart accountant that managed to join Taeil despite not having the proper qualifications. Through his skilled reasoning and eye for detail, Jang Ho-woo quickly rises to the top, only to find out that corruption is rampant within the accounting firm.
The cast of Numbers includes Kim Myung-soo in the role of the protagonist Jang Ho-woo, and Choi Jin-hyuk plays the role of Han Seung-jo, the son of VP Han Je-Gyun (Choi Min-soo). Jin Yeon-ah, another senior associate at the firm, is portrayed by Yeonwoo. Asides from playing the role of Jang Ho-woo, Kim Myun-soo has previously starred in dramas like One More Time and Miss Hammurabi.
Numbers: What Has Happened So Far?
In the last few episodes, we’ve seen Han Seung Jo meet up with Jang Ho Woo and finally answer the question he had asked him earlier. Seung Jo reveals that he was just trying to make smart choices and wants Jang Ho Woo to join him in his plans. Jang Ho Woo politely declines, citing accurate and perfectly logical reasons for his choice. Hearing the gossip going around in his office, Han Je Gyun’s plan to hire a fake hearing-impaired barista seemed to have worked just as he had wanted.
After overhearing one of the group leaders lose his mind over the accountant not being able to collect forms, Jang Ho Woo steps in and takes up the job of getting forms from stubborn employees from Geumyang. Before heading over to Geumyang, Jang Ho Woo decides to have a quick snack and meets Jin Yun Ah. She offers to drop him off at the place. He arrives at Geumyang Central Community Credit Cooperatives and asks for the debt amount that People’s Entertainment has.
Jang Ho Woo’s told to sit and wait, but instead of playing the waiting game, he decides to come up with another way to get them to give the confirmation. By getting a giant form printed out, he takes up the task of filling out the forms of all old people and offers to pay for their bank fees. Jang Ho Woo even prepares a form beforehand so that he can save time, which turns out to be a great decision as he’s finally able to get the stubborn employee to give him the confirmation.
When he’s allowed to be a part of the audit team, Jang Ho Woo discovers that the company has 42 million won in inventory assets, which he feels is very unusual for an entertainment company. He asks his superior if such a huge amount is normal, and he explains that it’s what People’s Entertainment built through movies and fan meets. However, when Jang Ho Woo researched the company, he realized that buying it won’t be profitable at all and would put them in debt instead.
Kang Hyun hears what Jang Ho Woo has to say, and he turns out to be right, as the company is falling deep into debt. Han Je Gyun tries to threaten Kang Hyun because he knows about the corruption going on in his business. Jang Ho Woo and Jin Yun Ah are left alone to check the assets of a luxury shop. As for Kang Hyun, he decides to quit his job and leaves the audit with an honest report.
