Nintendo’s Nintendo Museum has welcomed more than 800,000 visitors since opening in Kyoto, Japan, highlighting the continued interest in the company’s decades-long gaming legacy. The milestone was revealed by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa during the company’s latest shareholder meeting.
Furukawa said,
“We opened Nintendo Museum in October 2024. More than one year has passed, and as of the end of April 2026, over 800,000 people had visited. We believe Nintendo Museum provides a good opportunity for visitors to encounter the products and other items Nintendo has released over the years.”
He noted that the museum allows guests to experience Nintendo’s history through its products and memorabilia.

Located in Uji, Kyoto, the Nintendo Museum showcases the company’s evolution from its origins as a playing card manufacturer to the creator of iconic franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon. Interactive exhibits, classic hardware, and historical displays have made it a popular destination for Nintendo fans from around the world.
With visitor numbers continuing to rise, the museum appears well on track to surpass the one-million-visitor milestone in the coming months.
