Nintendo’s September 17, 2026 eShop update delivers a particularly strong lineup for Switch 2 owners, headlined by the launch of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. The new strategy RPG arrives alongside Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection, while Star Fox Adventures has also joined the Nintendo GameCube library for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.
The weekly Nintendo Download also highlights Woodo, which received its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on September 16, as well as the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Several other games are either available now or opening for pre-orders, giving Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players plenty to explore heading into the second half of September.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Leads This Week’s Nintendo Switch 2 Releases
The biggest new release is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17. Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, the tactical RPG follows four protagonists — Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda — whose individual stories become connected as they attempt to influence the fate of the world.
Players enter the Dagdan Empire to compete in the Heroic Games, where the winner can receive one wish. Battles use turn-based, grid-based strategy, while the game also features city exploration, recruitment, training, relationships, quests and dungeons. Nintendo has additionally published a three-part developer interview explaining how the team approached the game’s world, characters and interconnected journeys.
Another major addition is Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection, which marks Diablo IV’s arrival on Nintendo Switch 2. According to Nintendo, the collection includes the base game alongside the Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred expansions, giving Switch 2 players access to the complete package in one release.
The collection includes several playable classes and lets players explore Sanctuary while progressing through its dark fantasy campaign. Its Switch 2 debut also coincides with the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations and the Season of Hell’s Legacy.
Star Fox Adventures Joins Nintendo GameCube Classics
Nintendo Switch 2 owners subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack can also revisit Star Fox Adventures. Originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, the adventure moves Fox McCloud away from the series’ traditional space combat and into an exploration-focused journey on Dinosaur Planet.
Fox investigates a crisis on the planet alongside the dinosaur prince Tricky, using Krystal’s Staff for combat and magical abilities. The release expands Nintendo’s GameCube Classics selection on Switch 2 and gives a new generation an opportunity to experience one of the more unusual entries in the Star Fox series.
Meanwhile, Woodo is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 after launching on September 16. The cozy puzzle game has players assembling handcrafted wooden dioramas, with each completed scene gradually gaining color, animation and additional details. The Switch 2 version adds improved resolution, image quality and smoother performance.
Looking ahead, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on September 18 for Nintendo Switch 2. The TT Games-developed action adventure follows Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Batman while bringing characters including Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Jim Gordon into his journey.
Nintendo’s weekly update also includes new and upcoming releases such as CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD-, Graveyard Keeper 2, TCG Card Shop Simulator and The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival. EA SPORTS FC 27 is also available for pre-order on Switch and Switch 2.
