Comedian Nikki Glaser is postponing her plans for invasive plastic surgery after being selected to host the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards. The event is set to take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
In an interview on CBS Mornings, Glaser shared that she had been considering a cosmetic procedure for January 2025. She explained, “I was thinking about a brow lift or some other invasive surgery I’ve been researching.” However, those plans shifted when her agents delivered exciting career news.
“When two agents call you, it’s always good news,” Glaser joked. She recounted how her agents urged her to reschedule the procedure, saying, “Can you push it to the second week of January?” The opportunity to host the prestigious awards show quickly became her priority.
CBS and the Golden Globes announced back in August that Nikki Glaser would host the upcoming ceremony. Glaser expressed her excitement in a statement, calling it “one of my favorite nights of television.” She added humorously, “Now I get a front-row seat—well, actually, I think I have to host from the stage.”
The comedian also highlighted the importance of humor during the event, saying, “The Golden Globes is a big night for TV, film, and comedy. It’s one of the rare times showbiz embraces being lovingly mocked.”
Nikki Glaser is well-known for her biting humor on Comedy Central Roasts and her critically acclaimed special Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die, which is now streaming on Max. In addition to stand-up, Glaser recently participated in Netflix’s live special, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, alongside stars like Kevin Hart and Kim Kardashian.
During the roast, Glaser didn’t shy away from jokes about Brady’s personal life. Referring to his 2022 divorce from Gisele Bündchen, she quipped, “You have seven rings—well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.” She later admitted she questioned including Bündchen in her jokes since the supermodel wasn’t present but reasoned, “She’s the hottest person in the world; she can handle it.”
As the host of the Golden Globes, Nikki Glaser will bring her trademark wit to one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights. Fans can look forward to her humor as she takes the stage on January 5, 2025.
