Nike has signed Victor Wembanyama after winning the sweepstakes. The sneaker brand recently revealed a sneak peek at Wembanyama’s upcoming “Alien” logo. At a sneaker expo in Paris, Nike revealed an ultra-futuristic prototype shoe for the Spurs player.
The sneaker was created by AI and Nike research laboratories. The shoe is fluffy, almost marshmallow-like, with a white top. It also features a sizeable orange airbag, a signature of Nike Air, positioned closer to the center of the shoe.
The shoe doesn’t have any laces, but it does include the classic Nike swoosh. As for the release date of the “A.I.R.” sneaker or whether Victor Wembanyama will debut them, that remains unknown. It might take a few years before the shoe hits the market.
Nike Hasn’t Released Much Info About Victor Wembanyama’s Campaign
LeBron James and others have referred to Wembanyama as “Alien,” a nickname now embraced by Nike. Despite not having many items under Wembanyama’s brand during his debut season, Nike is now launching the Frenchman’s debut campaign.
The first Victor Wembanyama trademark sneaker from Nike is expected to launch in May. Nike revealed the athlete’s Alien logo, which will be featured on his first Nike-branded apparel.
On the day of the solar eclipse in North America, the company revealed the first teaser and logo for its next sneaker. The video showcased an alien logo-shaped crop circle with additional basketball-related elements within the design.
During his first year, Victor Wembanyama has been seen wearing Nike GT Hustle 2 trainers. He also received an exclusive colorway known as the “Alien,” featuring green accents on a black background.
Wembanyama was actively involved in the creation of his trademark sneaker. The basketball player, who enjoys drawing in his spare time, likely contributed to the concepts for his upcoming campaign.
