Night By The Sea is the story of a young man, Kim Eui-Hyun, who is at the last straws of his life. After assaulting some, he flees the scene. Later we come to know that man that he attacked was Youngdo Hyung-Nim. He was alone in a room with Eui-Hyun. He heard the ones that were outside the room looking for him say that he was an Omega. He got in a taxi and sped away.
In the taxi, the driver asks where he wants to go. Eui-Hyun doesn’t have anywhere else to go. He contemplates what to do next. He tells the driver to stop the car, and he gets out. It is then we see that he has a child with him. The child is holding onto his arm tight. He does not know what to do with the kid. If he leaves him, he will surely starve. He decides it would be better to end it now.
With that, he picks up the child and starts walking into the sea. With each passing step, the cold water of the ocean embraces him. Welcoming him has it has done so for so many others before him. He tells the child that everything will be fine. It will all be over soon. However, today isn’t the day Eui-Hyun dies. He felt a tug on the shirt. Then a pull. Someone is pulling him back onto the shore.
He struggles to get free, but it’s not working. The man who just saved his life is Yeo Tae-Ju. He asks his men not to get into the water. He pulls them back onto the shore and into his car. He remarks how they are far too important to be served to the fish. Yeo Tae-Ju tells him that he can’t let him die yet. He still has a debt to pay. With that, they start their journey. To the place this all started.
The boy is fast asleep by now. The car comes to a stop, and the child is taken away. Eui-Hyun protests but is silenced. Yeo Tae-Ju tells him that it’s time the adults have a talk. We later learn that the boy is Eui-Hyun’s brother. The scene then shifts to an office. Yeo Tae-Ju is reading a document with information about Eui-Hyun. He tells him that he has a debt of 180 Million.
Eui-Hyun protests saying he never burrowed that money. Yeo Tae-Ju tells him technically, that is true, but since he is the guarantor, it’s his debt now. Yeo Tae-Ju tells him that he is aware of his situation. He has no job, no house, and no life. He has a proposition. He suggests that Eui-Hyun use his body to pay the debt. Eui-Hyun is, of course, outraged at this proposition, but what else can he do?

After spending the night together in their car, both Yeo Tae-Ju and Kim Eui-Hyun are exhausted. Tae-Ju wakes up suddenly and tries to get up. He relaxes a bit after seeing Eui-Hyun asleep on top of him. He caresses his face and moves in closer. The movement woke up Eui-Hyun. After sitting up for a while, he opens the car door and starts to leave. Eui-Hyun is not even looking at him.
He asks him to pay the bill and go. Claiming that is the type of relationship they share. Tae-Ju holds his hand, trying to get him to stay. He tells him that it’s not fully like that. What he said next was some words you would never expect to come from a man of his stature. He confesses his love for Eui-Hyun. Yeo Tae-Ju told Kim Eui-Hyun that he loves him. Which he quickly regrets.
Eui-Hyun turns back and starts choking him. He is in tears. He asks him whether there is how you treat people that you love. Eui-Hyun tells him that saying that he was drunk would be more believable. Tae-Ju is making him pay for a debt he has no business paying for. He made him sell his body and constantly treated him like trash. Eui-Hyun tells him that these are not things you do to someone you love.
With that, he lets Tae-Ju go, exits the car, and starts walking away. Tae-Ju chases him, but Eui-Hyun does not care about anything he wants to say. He goes back to his opponent. He wonders if Eui-Yeong is still asleep. But out of the corner of his eye, he sees a silhouette. He turns, and it’s not Tae-Ju. It’s someone else entirely. The person tells Eui-Hyun, “Long Time No See,” while he stands there in shock.

In the last chapter, we see Yeo Tae-Ju confessing his love for Kim Eui-Hyun. We do not know if it was a spur-of-the-moment thing or if he was planning to do it all along. Whichever the plan was, it was pretty unexpected. Tae-Ju is not someone whom you expect to say something like this. To be vulnerable in from of someone else. I am sure that Tae-Ju did not expect this strong reaction from him.
To say Eui-Hyun was outraged at his confession will be an understatement. If he had some time to think, maybe he would feel differently. For now, his answer was a very firm No. It is to be expected. You can’t treat someone like an object and then expect them to fall in love with you. Furthermore, who was that person outside his door? Eui-Hyun did recognize him, so maybe he was a friend or even a relative.
