At Billboard’s Women in Music event on March 6, NewJeans delivered a lively performance, blending “ETA” and their viral hit “Super Shy” before receiving the Group of the Year award.
Earlier, on the red carpet, NewJeans teased their touring and new music plans to Billboard.
“We’re preparing and practicing hard,” Danielle hinted. “We can’t wait to share new music with everyone. We’re looking forward to it.”
The group unanimously agreed that they loved “Super Shy” from the start. “When we first heard it, we were all like, ‘This is so catchy,'” Danielle recalled, with Hanni chiming in, “It was stuck in our heads when we were making it.”
Danielle continued,
“It’s the choreography and the feel of everyone dancing together and having fun, that makes it a song that’s like, ‘We’re together. We can do this together.’”
In 2023, NewJeans’ sophomore EP, “Get Up,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Aug. 5, 2023), narrowly surpassing the star-studded Barbie soundtrack by just 500 units.
Additionally, “Get Up” reached the top spot on the Top Album Sales, Tastemaker Albums, and World Albums charts for 10 consecutive weeks.
