Touko noticed that Souta was shy and told him that Yuto would wait.
Souta realizes that he has to spend a night there. The two went to have something at a nearby shop. On the other side, Harumi and Futaba talk about New Year. Harumi wonders why Futaba is not going home for New Year since her grandfather might be missing her. At her home, Futaba’s grandfather stands near the hill and shouts her name while asking her to come home since he feels he could die. He wonders if he could swim and return with Futaba. Futaba realizes that her grandfather will be going on a fishing trip with his friends.
She promised Harumi that she would go home some other time. Harumi told her not to catch a cold and decided to go home. Futaba realizes that she wants to tell him something, but it is difficult for her. In the morning, the workers prepare for New Year, and Yuta talks about New Year’s Eve party that his friends will throw. Touko realizes that it will be only her and Souta. Later Souta arrives and learns that it will be only two of them. Futaba gets worried about Harumi, but she avoids that.
