CBS’s popular comedy show, Young Sheldon, is ending after seven seasons. But fans can look forward to a new spin-off called Georgie and Mandy, set to premiere in the 2024/2025 TV season. Emily Osment, who plays Mandy McAllister, shared some insights into her character’s development in the upcoming series.
In an interview with People, Osment expressed her excitement about reprising her role as a mom to baby Cece and wife to Georgie, played by Montana Jordan.
She hinted at Mandy’s desire to pursue further education and a career beyond being a stay-at-home mom. Osment also mentioned that Mandy’s past as a weather girl might be explored again in the new series.
Young Sheldon Spin-Off Plans Exciting New Journey
The spin-off will focus on Mandy and Georgie navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting, and marriage while raising their family in Texas. Although the series doesn’t have a title yet, the production is set to begin this summer.
The original producers of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, including Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland, will return to produce the new half-hour, multi-camera comedy.
Montana Jordan, who plays Georgie, is new to multi-camera filming, while Osment is excited about performing in front of a live audience. The final episode of Young Sheldon will air on May 16, and past seasons are available for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.
