What Kaiju No. 8 Is All About?
Kafka Hibino once dreamed of joining childhood friend Mina Ashiro as a heroic Kaiju-fighting soldier. Their youthful promise to “wipe out the Kaiju together” motivated Kafka’s goal of enlisting with the esteemed Japan Defense Force.
But over time, cruel twists of fate forced the two down separate paths – Mina ascended the ranks as Captain of the 3rd Division, while Kafka abandoned his aspirations, instead finding work with Monster Sweeper, Inc.
