Hyundai is coming back with its all-time favorite hatchback Santro, and this time, we see that the hatchback comes with a premium and while it may not look justified, but it seems like Hyundai has loaded the new Santro with features this year!
Santro essentially comes in the hatchback segment, and in the segment, it offers a really big cabin and (surprisingly) will come with a 7-inch infotainment system which will be fully touchscreen. The system is expected to be fully compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The other cars in the segment, the Tiago be Tata, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio do not offer any touchscreen infotainment system even in the top models. Also, a really surprising addition is the addition of the read AC vents which is never seen in a hatchback and is first in the segment.
Santro also comes with upgraded security systems. The dual airbags and ABS will be the standard ones, but to lift up the security, Hyundai is offering rear parking sensors. The higher models will feature a rear parking camera as well, which is also a first in the segment.
Under the hood, Santro features an updated version of Hyundai’s 1.1-litre Epsilon petrol engine for the petrol variant. The petrol variant will also come in the fully automated gearbox version with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT with a fuel efficiency of 20.1 Km/L. Santro will also come in CNG variant with a price tag of 5.17-5.32 lakh. And the petrol model and the diesel models are set to come at some premium than before. The automatic versions will be priced with the competitive price tags.
All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
