Netflix’s latest Korean original, Our Sticky Love, has made a strong start on the streaming service following its August 7 premiere. The 12-episode series entered Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English TV chart for the August 3–9 viewing period, recording 3.2 million views during its debut week.
The result adds another promising title to Netflix’s expanding Korean drama lineup. The streamer has officially positioned Our Sticky Love as a romantic comedy, but its unusual premise introduces crime and suspense elements that give the series a broader genre appeal. Netflix describes the show as following an ambitious prosecutor who loses her memory and becomes dependent on a man claiming to be her boyfriend.
Our Sticky Love turns its unusual romance into a streaming hit
The story centers on Go Eun-sae, played by Ha Young, who wakes up without memories of her identity or past. Jang Tae-ha, portrayed by Jung Hae-in, arrives claiming to be her boyfriend and takes her to a small rural community, creating the central mystery surrounding their relationship.
However, Tae-ha is hiding more than his supposed connection to Eun-sae. The story gradually introduces a dangerous criminal underworld, giving the romance a darker thriller component. Netflix itself described the series as a combination of romantic comedy and noir suspense ahead of its premiere.

That unusual combination appears to have helped Our Sticky Love attract viewers beyond the conventional K-drama romance audience. The series was released globally on Netflix on August 7, with all 12 episodes available as part of its first-season run.
The cast is led by Jung Hae-in and Ha Young, with Squid Game star Heo Sung-tae among the supporting performers. Kim Jang-han directs the series, while Mo Ji-hye serves as writer.
For Netflix, Our Sticky Love’s debut provides another early indication that Korean originals remain an important part of its international streaming strategy. Whether the series can maintain its momentum in the coming weeks will depend on its ability to turn the strong debut into sustained viewership.
