Netflix has released the first teaser for its upcoming high-teen drama “Hierarchy.” The series is set at Jooshin High School, an elite institution where the top 0.01 percent of students dominate. The story centers around transferring students with secrets that disrupt the established order, igniting a passionate tale of love and jealousy.
Directed by Bae Hyun Jin, known for “Alchemy of Souls,” “Big Mouth,” and “Start-Up,” and written by Chu Hye Mi of “About Time,” the series promises to be a gripping drama. The teaser poster, released on May 16, features a crown symbolizing the perfect order at Jooshin High.
In the background, transfer student Kang Ha (played by Lee Chae Min) is depicted with a clenched fist, staring at the crown behind a cracking glass case. The poster’s text, “Admire it or despise it,” hints at the impending disruption in the school’s hierarchy.
The teaser begins with contrasting scenes of a student’s mysterious death and the lavish daily lives of Jooshin High’s students. The narration suggests turmoil with phrases like, “There’s always trouble when there’s a scholarship kid,” and, “And it always ends so tragically.”
These lines underscore the intense rivalry between Ri An (Kim Jae Won), Jooshin Group’s heir, and transfer student Kang Ha. Ri An’s warning, “We’re at Jooshin right now. Don’t do anything you can’t handle,” sets the stage for their confrontation.
Kang Ha’s daring kiss with Jung Jae Yi (Roh Jeong Eui), Jooshin High’s queen and Ri An’s girlfriend, further cracks the hierarchy. The dramatic exclamation, “Everyone at this school is nuts!” hints at deeper secrets lurking beneath the surface.
“Hierarchy” promises to deliver a riveting narrative filled with intrigue, power struggles, and emotional intensity as the secrets of Jooshin High come to light.
