NCIS, a JAG spin-off that recently appeared in the US for its 19th season, is a prime illustration of how much the US likes a long-running police procedural. While NCIS is popular in the United States, it is in little supply in the United Kingdom. Episodes of NCIS are not available in the UK. But that was until this week when it was announced that NCIS will be returning to the UK with all seasons, a release date, and a streaming site on which it will be available. Fans in the United Kingdom who have been waiting to see an episode of NCIS for a long time can now do so in one sitting.
The Major Case Response Team, based in Washington, D.C., is the subject of the series. Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a thrice-divorced widower, and former Marine Gunnery Sergeant, is in charge of the operation. The MCRT is the United States Department of the Navy’s major law enforcement and counterintelligence arm, which includes the US Marine Corps. Within the Department of the Navy, NCIS investigates all severe criminal offenses, such as those punishable by more than one year of confinement under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The squad specializes in crime scene investigation and homicides involving Navy and Marine Corps members.
NCIS Season 18 Finale Recap
The episode Rule 91 began with McGee, Bishop, and Torres frantically attempting to stop some guns dealers. Bishop was able to show off some dazzling maneuvers and how adept she was at taking guys out with her sidearm throughout the firefight. Torres had a few inquiries. We felt the same way. Later, when examining the one man who escaped, the squad discovered firearms and a confidential NSA file. This raised even more questions, such as how that man came into possession of classified material.
The NSA informed Director Vance that Bishop was suspected of leaking the information. Vance spoke with her and told her that he trusted her but that she would have to be suspended. Bishop and Gibbs were sent to the sidelines as a result. But the twists didn’t stop there. Bishop admitted to leaking the documents, and she then went on to destroy her connections with other NCIS team members. Although it was later revealed that this was all part of a larger strategy to allow her to go underground, the details were generally kept under wraps.
Odette Malone, the woman who was keeping an eye on Ziva David’s shed, reappeared. Odette assigned Bishop to a mission that she was willing to undertake, and we only found out about it because Torres refused to let up on her. When Bishop eventually caught up to Torres at the end of the episode, they shared a kiss. But she needed to complete this task in order to assist in the rescue of innocent Syrian refugees who had become entangled in something. As a result, the first significant issue arose, with viewers wondering if Bishop would be quitting NCIS.
Mark Harmon & Pam Dawber On A Case
Gibbs and Marcie were working on their side case at the time of the episode’s conclusion. Because Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber (the actors who play them) are married in real life, they were able to have a lot of amusing talks with each other. Gibbs realized they had been bugged during the inquiry and that the killer was after them. We also got to watch Gibbs launch his boat into the water, which was the conclusion of a lot of hard work. It burst as he was starting to boat around, implying that Gibbs had just been slain by NCIS. We watched a lifeless body glide to the surface… before swimming away.
Is it possible that Gibbs pretended to be dead? Mark Harmon’s exit from NCIS is rumored to be imminent. Why can’t there be a couple more episodes of Season 18? We’ll have to wait until the fall to see what happens. However, this was one of NCIS’s best season finales. It’s one of those shows worth watching again, and hopefully, everyone tuned in live to see all of the pyrotechnics.
NCIS Season 19 Release Date In The UK
For the long-running police procedural, Season 18 was a refreshing change of pace. New seasons of NCIS usually premiere in September, along with the rest of the network’s fall lineup. Coronavirus, like so many other aspects of modern life, threw that off in 2020. Season 18 debuted in November due to filming delays, and episodes are expected to air through May.
The NCIS Response Team will return to UK television screens on Wednesday, April 6th, when the first three episodes of the series will be available on Disney Plus. On Disney Plus, new episodes will air every Wednesday. On Wednesday, April 6, all 18 prior seasons of the police procedural will be available on the streamer in one go. We can’t wait to get started! In the United States, the nineteenth season of the police procedural premiered a few weeks earlier, on September 20, 2021, with the first episode airing on CBS.
With lead actor Mark Harmon on the show for a while—not to mention the conclusion of spin-off NCIS: New Orleans—it was feared that NCIS might shut down the case file entirely. To the delight of fans everywhere, NCIS was renewed for a 19th season in April 2021, extending its reign as one of television’s longest-running scripted series. A cancellation of CBS’ flagship series would be surprising, especially given the revelation that NCIS: Hawaii, the third spin-off, is in the production to join the returning NCIS: Los Angeles.
NCIS Season 19 Cast
Mark Harmon, who has portrayed Leroy Jethro Gibbs for all 18 seasons of the show, is the biggest question mark going forward. Pauley Perrette, who left after 15 seasons, was one of many actresses who have come and gone from the show. Harmon’s time on the procedural, though, may be drawing to a close. Over the years, he’s suggested that a departure could be on the horizon, notably in an interview with People in which he described the reasons surrounding his departure.
He stated that if the writers go into the meeting and say, “They don’t know what to do,” he believes they should all stare at each other and call it a day. NCIS even set up a probable retirement for Leroy in Season 16 when the special agent discussed retiring shortly with his therapist. Could this be the actor’s final season?
Spoiler Cast For Season 19
Spoilers NCIS Season 19 is now airing in the United States, so we already know who will be in it. Mark Harmon, who portrays longtime Leroy Jethro Gibbs, will return for Season 19, but just for a few episodes before departing the show permanently. Furthermore, as hinted at in the season 18 finale, Ellie Bishop would be departing the show after eight years, as actress Emily Wickersham revealed on social media. It also comes after Maria Bello’s character, Jack Sloane, quit the show in the midst of last season to volunteer in Afghanistan.
In season 19, the majority of the NCIS Major Case Response Team is back for more criminal cases. Nick Torres is played by Wilmer Valderrama, Senior Field Agent Timothy McGee is played by Sean Murray, Kasie Hines is played by Diona Reasonover, Jimmy Palmer is played by Dr. Brian Dietzen, Leon Vance is played by Rocky Carroll, and Donald Mallard is played by Dr. David McCallum. Gary Cole, who played FBI Special Agent Alden Park on The Good Wife, has joined the cast.
After the introduction of Special Agent Jessica Knight at the end of season 18, Arrow’s character Katrina Law will become a series regular. Carol Wilson, Meredith Eaton’s immunologist, returns in season 19 as well.
What To Expect From NCIS Season 19?
As a police procedural, NCIS does not have any overarching plots. It usually follows a week-by-week routine, with a new case for the team to investigate each week. Over the years, the group has been involved in a variety of activities, ranging from dealing with drug smugglers to investigating murder cases. Because crime isn’t going away any time soon, there will undoubtedly be more tales to tell.
After five episodes, Mark Harmon leaves NCIS Season 19, which opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Someone else would have to step in to take over, and the show could then center on another character attempting to live up to Gibbs’ legacy. It’s understandable that things can get formulaic after 18 seasons. Fans undoubtedly want Harmon to stay on for as long as possible, but his departure might offer the show a new lease on life and allow it to travel into uncharted terrain. Still, it’s just conjecture at this point. To find out what occurs next on NCIS, we’ll have to wait for more confirmation from CBS.
