In the previous chapter of My Revenge on the Crimson Queen, Elena was upset since she got into a lot of trouble for not attending Miss Colette’s study group session. The truth was that she never got the invitation and it was most probably because everyone was trying to sabotage her, but Elena was determined not let it get to her.
She also met Luka, who had come to the Palace and he gifted her a pair of earrings for her protection. Elena was happy to see her savior and as she was leaving the library, she met Duke Rion’s son who had gotten hurt. The kid told Elena that her father had come to meet Melanie.
Of course, the other ladies start talking about her and grilling her since she did not come to Colette’s study session but Miss Colette was pretty kind to her.
Obviously, the bullying did not stop there and the ladies asked Elena to sing a song for them all while mocking her for being adopted or being a lowly singer.
Elena decides to go forward with it and sings a beautiful song which shocks everyone since it was about a Queen’s affair with a Duke from a play.
The people are all shocked but Melanie was the most nervous. She instantly understood that Elena knew about her affair.
She became even paler when she mentioned meeting the Duke’s son at the palace and that the Duke was no where to be found. It was a good way to show Melanie that she was not the one in power.
Afterwards, Elena regretted being so aggressive but she also knew she had to do it since everyone was thinking of her as a weak girl. She did not realize that the King had come to the Chapel until he said her sister’s name, and Elena was a bit taken aback by the sickly look on the King’s face.
