Not just that, Akane had to use every trick possible to woe Yamada to fall for her before meeting him in person. And she deserves the credit for the devotion she put in getting Yamada to acknowledge how she feels about him.
Once again, it was a long journey, and the last chapter was one of the ends for the story to reach that point. But this is how the meandering stories tend to be (they used to be more common at one point). And it was all good for Akane once she learned that one on the end of the screen was a good-looking, handsome guy.
