The drawback? Yogiri missed out on the amazing abilities his companions gained because he slept through the entire metamorphosis. To further matters, his classmates abandoned him and a fellow student, using them as bait to frighten away a frightening dragon. Yogiri didn’t care to die, but he felt an odd responsibility to keep his lone friend safe.

This is the fascinating part. Yogiri was virtually unstoppable due to a secret power that allowed him to bring anything to a complete stop with a single thought. The only issue? To employ this Instant Death authority, he had to remain awake. Besides, he wasn’t exactly good at staying awake.
