The highly anticipated anime film My Hero Academia: You’re Next is set to make its North American debut on October 11, 2024, following a successful release in Japan on August 2, 2024.
The film will be shown in both English dubbed and subbed versions in theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
Prior to this, a special screening event at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, hosted by Toho International in collaboration with Beyond Fest 2024, will give some lucky fans an early look on October 6, 2024.
This screening celebrates the film’s success and offers fans a chance to experience it on the big screen before its broader release.
Set between the sixth and seventh seasons of the anime, My Hero Academia: You’re Next continues the story of Deku and his friends as they face new challenges following the Paranormal Liberation War and the escape of the villain All for One.
The film introduces a new character, Dark Might, who claims the title of the new Symbol of Peace. This character is a dark counterpart to the beloved hero All Might, bringing a new level of intensity and intrigue to the story.
As society teeters on the edge of collapse, Deku and his allies confront this unexpected and formidable threat.
Dark Might, who resembles All Might but embodies opposing ideals, has a Quirk that rivals even the strongest heroes.
He is supported by a mysterious figure named Anna and pursued by the mysterious butler Giulio.
The film explores Dark Might’s connection to the Gollini Family, a criminal syndicate, adding layers of mystery and danger to the plot.
Fans will enjoy seeing how this new villain measures up against the heroes, particularly in light of the significant damage Japan has sustained and the ongoing battle between heroes and villains.
Fans attending the Beyond Fest screening will be given a special treat, as Kenta Miyake, the voice actor for Dark Might, and Daiki Yamashita, who voices Deku, will be present.
This event will offer a unique opportunity to engage with the voices behind these iconic characters and add to the excitement surrounding the film.
With its combination of high-stakes action and a new dark twist on a familiar hero, My Hero Academia: You’re Next promises to be a must-watch for fans of the series.
