On Monday, the final chapter of Kohei Horikoshi’s hit manga, My Hero Academia, was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in its combined 36th and 37th issue. The publisher, Shueisha, also announced that the series will receive its final fanbook in January, and its first artbook in April.
Additionally, a large-scale art exhibit will be held in the summer of 2025 to celebrate the series’ completion. The official Twitter account of the My Hero Academia anime shared an image celebrating the end of the series and thanked the author, Kohei Horikoshi.
My Hero Academia is a manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, since July 2014, with its chapters collected into 39 tankobon volumes as of November 2023.
It inspired many spin-off manga, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, Vigilantes, and Team-Up Missions. Besides light novels, stage plays, and souvenirs, the franchise has produced many video games.
Studio Bones produced the first season from April to June 2016, a second from April to September 2017, a third from April to September 2018, a fourth from October 2019 to April 2020, a fifth from March to September 2021, a sixth from October 2022 to March 2023, and a seventh that is currently airing.
It has three animated films: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, Heroes Rising, and World Heroes’ Mission, plus nine original video animations.
A fourth animated film, titled My Hero Academia: You’re Next, was released in Japan on August 2, 2024, and will be coming to the United States on October 11, 2024. A live-action film by Legendary Entertainment is in development.
