Alright, so we got the My Hero Academia Chapter 388 Spoilers, and we are, in fact, continuing the Dabi vs the Todoroki Family in this one. Before we go into it, let me just go over what had happened in the previous chapter, just to catch up with the speed because we were on a break.
As Dabi was taking over Endeavorm, he blasted him with some flash fire first; they were having flashbacks, and Dabi even lost his right arm, but it turns out that Dabi was able to unlock Rei’s Quirk in this instant.
Yes, Dabi now has an Ice Quirk, kind of, I don’t know. It’s not being explained in the spoilers for now, but we saw that he had Rei’s awakened Ice Quirk, apparently because he came close to death, and that is how awakenings occur for most of the time.
On the other hand, this didn’t deter Endeavor as he grabbed Dabi and tried to take him pretty much into the atmosphere, because we also found that Dabi was on the verge of exploding by storing his internal energy. As they were going up, we, the audience, kind of just accepted that they were going to die. However, out of nowhere, Rei shows up, yes, the mother of Dabi and the wife of Endeavor.
With this, she seemingly activates her quirk as well to shield herself from the fire, but we thought that oh! This is how this whole thing is gonna be deterred, and that brings us to this chapter.
My Hero Academia Chapter 388 Spoilers
This chapter opens up with Kendo, where we see that he has immobilized the All For One spy with the help of her hands and also informed the other heroes that they have successfully managed to mess with the system, and that is why the shelter will not be moving again. As a result, the heroes start evacuating the rest of the civilians back to the surface.
So that is how the All For One Civilian Traitor storyline is wrapping up. Kendo takes them out, and the whole purpose is to just short-circuit the shelter so that the Todoroki family has an excuse to leave them and go to the surface, along with the other heroes, as it states here too. It just makes me wonder what was the point of these things.
We find out that the UA Robots are there as well, and they are ready to take people on the other side for their safety. All they have to do is give them the orders. This is when the heroes instruct the civilian to never look on the other side of the way. This was because they we preventing them to look directly at Dabi’s giant heat sphere, but as expected, the Todorokis ignore that warning.
Rei took a Bike Robot and Speedran
After noticing this Rei makes a worried expression, and not wasting much time, she grabs one of the UA Robots that was bike shaped and asks Natsuo to protect his sister. Later, Rei asks the robot to take her to the place where the heat is coming from, basically the source of Dabi’s heat sphere, where the Robot says that he is there to follow the orders from the humans and that this was when the flashback ends.
So yeah, that explains how I guess, fully the Todoroki Family got out of there, got to the surface, and how Rei so quickly got to where Dabu was taking on Endeavor. Conveniently, there is one of that robot there, and I am assuming that this might be the robot we see at the beginning of the series, which kind of like made these offhand about hating humans.
Rei took a bike robot and speedrun all the way, facing her husband and son. Back to the present, we see that the robot has been destroyed completely by the heat that was coming through Dabi’s sphere, and then died by doing a thumps up.
After that, we see that Rei screams “TOYA”, while her face is still continuously burning. This is when Endeavor wonders if Rei is keeping herself alive with the help of her ice quirk and is also planning to do the same thing with Toya.
I mean, yeah, Endeavor, that is definitely what she is doing if she wasn’t, she would have been vaporized by this point, but that is also what we speculated at the end of the previous chapter, she is going to use her Ice Quirk on Dabi to cool him down, I guess, and maybe his own quirk that he has awakened will subconsciously assist her.
