The new episodes will premiere worldwide on Netflix on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Japan Time, continuing the anime’s blend of historical romance, supernatural drama and emotional character development.

The announcement was made on August 31, alongside the release of a new teaser trailer featuring previously unseen animated footage. The teaser also gives viewers an early preview of the special episodes’ new ending theme, marking the return of singer-songwriter Kashitaro Ito to the series.

The upcoming release follows the second season, which concluded after premiering on Netflix in January 2025. With both existing seasons currently available worldwide, viewers have an opportunity to revisit Miyo and Kiyoka’s journey before the new episodes arrive.

What My Happy Marriage Is About

Set in Japan during the Taisho era, My Happy Marriage follows Miyo Saimori, a young woman who grows up suffering mistreatment from her family because she appears to lack supernatural abilities. Her life changes after she is arranged to marry Kiyoka Kudou, a powerful and initially intimidating military officer.

Their relationship gradually becomes the emotional center of the series as Kiyoka begins to recognize Miyo’s kindness and hidden potential. At the same time, Miyo slowly discovers that there is much more to her heritage and abilities than she initially understood.

The anime is adapted from Akumi Agitogi’s light novel series, illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka and published by KADOKAWA. Season 1 premiered on Netflix in July 2023, followed by Season 2 in January 2025.

For fans who want to celebrate the series beyond streaming, the Season 1 original soundtrack by Evan Call is also available as a three-LP vinyl collection featuring artwork from the anime.
