A reality series titled My Big Fat Fabulous Life follows an obese Whitney and her journey to fame. Another season of the beloved series made a comeback in 2023 and focuses on following Whitney and her family as they deal with the grief surrounding the loss of their mother and wife, Babs.

The first episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life focuses on Thores expressing their feelings for Babs during her funeral after the beloved family member died of cerebral amyloid angiopathy. The first episode begins with Whitney, Whitney’s dad, and Hunter, Whitney’s brother, talking about the grief of losing their wife and mother.
The trio talk about their feelings at the moment they learn about Babs taking her last breath. The scene then shifts to Bab’s funeral day, where her family members talk about their feelings for her.
Whitney and her dad continue to talk about Babs and her nature while dealing with day-to-day life hurdles. Whitney talks about her dad struggling with the grief and guilt her dad felt after taking his beloved wife off the life support. Whitney tries to assure her dad that the doctors didn’t see any chance of saving their mother thus, they had to let her go.
Tal, Whitney’s friend, arrives at Babs’ funeral and gives his condolences to her with tears-filled eyes. Tal shares his experience with Babs with Whitney and her attachment to Babs. Whitney talks with Tal about her dad as she feels worried for her father due to him suddenly losing his wife.
Whitney talks about her dad, stating that it would be better if he died with Babs. Whitney is determined to support her dad in any way he would need and decides to be strong for him. Whitney continues to gain sympathy from people by continuously mentioning how worried she is for her dad.
Whitney also admits that she is trying to get her dad to move in with her so that she can clean the old house. Whitney is hopeful that her father will agree to move in with her after weighing his options. People continue to arrive at Babs’s funeral and talk about their memories of Babs.
The scene then shifts to Buddy as he talks about Whitney handling everything better than he thought. The family pays tribute and gives a eulogy for Babs, with Whitney’s father talking about how he is lost without the love of his life, followed by Whitney talking about her mother being the epitome of love.
Honestly, it felt like the only person sad about Bab not being there anymore was her husband and son. Whitney’s cries felt like a move to gain more sympathy from her family and viewers. The scene cuts to two months after the day the Thores lost Babs, with Whitney talking to her father about getting her family house in order.
Now, Whitney’s dad is living with her at her house due to him not being ready to move back into the home he shared with the love of his life. The first episode ends with Whitney finding out that she has a half-sister. Whitney also decides to go back into the dating field and make a dating profile.

The upcoming episode titled “My Big Fat Family Secret” will witness Whitney planning and throwing a Babs-themed party for her family and friends to celebrate Babs’s life. Whitney will also talk about losing 40 pounds and being able to cross her legs finally.
Whitney talks about her plans to go back to the dating pool with her friends. She will also inform her dad about his long-lost daughter, the child he had from wedlock. Whitney, her dad, and her brother go to meet Whitney’s dad’s child, Angie, and her family.
Whitney locks horns with Geine, Angie’s daughter, after the latter asks her to treat her like a queen. They lock horns again after Whitney loses a game against Gieni, and the latter calls her a sore loser.
A shocking bomb gets dropped when Whitney’s father tells Whitney that he was thinking about moving to Alabama after his daughter Angie asks him to. Whitney throws a temper tantrum and tries to guilt-trip her dad into staying with her.
