What would your feelings be if you got to know an archaeologist who also works to solve murder mysteries? Directed by Kevin Fair and Doughlas Barr, the series follows Emma, an archaeological professor who works alongside Jim, an FBI agent she has befriended, and they solve the mysteries of murders together.
Written by Dana Cameron, Suzette Couture, and Phoef Sutton, the series was an adaptation of a novel franchise of the same name by Dana Cameron. Emma Fielding Mysteries was appreciated by the viewers as the original book itself had a huge fan following.

Emma Fielding Mysteries Premise
The first film to come out from the series of Emma Fieldings Mysteries was Site Unseen, followed by the introduction of Emma, an archaeologist in the process of becoming a professor. Emma is an archaeologist with a talent for discovering artifacts that have been lost for several years. Emma is dedicated and passionate about her work. In a twist, Emma makes the discovery of a 17th Century coastal settlement that predates Jamestown.
The possibility of the remains turning out to be of Jamestown is high, and if the remains turn out to be of Jamestown, then it will become one of the most significant finds of the century. Well, as life would have it, Emma gets pushed in a different direction as she discovers a dead body at the same site where she found the remains. Emma’s site is in danger of getting shut down by the police for further investigation. Thus, Emma begins her own exploration of the dead body.
The treasure hunters residing locally become suspicious of the murder. Thus, they rally together to get the site shut down. To prevent her site from shutting down, Emma partners with a handsome FBI to investigate the case and find the truth behind the murder. Emma also finishes her Ph.D. and becomes professor Emma amidst the chaos. The second film of the series, titled Past Malice, followed Emma, now a professor hired by locals to discover the truth behind Chandler Castle, which locals believed to be cursed.
Well, in a twist, another mystery is served on a platter for Emma to solve after she discovers the dead body of her colleague in the crypt below the Castle. Emma takes over the job of investigating the truth behind the death of her colleague as she begins to make unsettling connections between Chandler Castle and the old curse. As the film moves forward, Emma, Jim, and her students have to protect themselves as they are next in line to be buried in the Castle to protect its secrets.
The third film in the series More Bitter Than Death follows Emma being thrust into solving the mystery of the murder of the President of her organization is killed after she is poisoned during the annual gathering of the Association for the Study of American Archeology. Everyone is under suspicion for the murder of the President. There are several senior archaeologists present at the gathering making entitled claims to be the next successor prior to the President’s murder. Once again, Emma partners with her pal Jim to solve the mystery of the President’s death.

Emma Fielding Mysteries was filmed around British Columbia as the prime location.
1. Sidney
Sidney is a small town located at the northeastern end of the Saainch Peninsula in British Colombia. Sidney was used as the prime location by the production crew of Emma Fieldings Mysterys to film the first movie. The crew used the location as it was perfect for the story they wanted to portray to the viewers. Sidney attracts several tourists throughout the year as it is located near the Salish Sea.
2. Metchosin
District of Metchosin is a municipality located in Greater Victoria in British Colombia used by the production crew of Emma Fieldings Mysteries to film the first movie of the three-part franchise. The crew selected the location for its landscaped beauty and ancient architecture in some regions required by the film.
