Recap
In the previous chapter of Mr Devourer, Please Act Like a Final Boss, Patrick and Swald go to Hastrin, where they decide to stay in an inn for the night. However, the innkeeper is extremely wary of these new visitors and even takes out a weapon in case they decide to cause trouble. However, Patrick calms the situation down very well.
He was disguised as a Knight since it would freak people out and attract everyone’s attention if they saw his real appearance. Since he is a polite Knight, the innkeeper calms down, and he tells them that he has no food or accommodation that would suit a Knight.
It was pretty funny because Patrick tells Swald that he called him a slave since he dresses in worn-out rags like a beggar. Also, it is more convenient to be a slave rather than a beggar since a slave is their master’s property, so the other people wouldn’t approach Swald recklessly and save him energy.
After getting settled in the room, Patrick decides to go out for a stroll while Swald stays back, which makes sense since he hates working hard. Patrick decides to gather more information about the Black Calamity and the condition of the current Lord of Hastrin since the previous Lord’s heirs were not allowed to inherit the title.
He goes to check out the Lord at his castle and sneaks around to get inside since the security around the castle is pretty tight. Meanwhile, the innkeeper comes to see Patrick to tell him that the food is ready, and Swald goes with him after saying that the Knight has gone out for a walk.
