Lysfanga, the debut hack ‘n’ slash game from French developer Sand Door Studio, is set to release on February 13 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Priced at $24.99 / €24.99, the game will offer a discounted rate of $19.99 / €19.99 during its first week of release. Lysfanga revolves around Ime, a guardian bestowed with powers by the Goddess of Time.
The hack and slash gameplay incorporates tactical elements, allowing players to rewind time and create duplicates of Ime, ultimately forming a small army capable of performing various actions simultaneously.
The game received positive feedback during VGC’s hands-on preview last year, with praise for its tactical gameplay, likening it to “Hades with a mechanic not unlike multi-track music recording.” Lysfanga’s unique approach involves players controlling all protagonists one by one in a co-op Hades-like setting. The addition of time trials adds complexity, encouraging players to optimize their runs for the best possible outcome among countless possibilities.
Quantic Dream officially introduced its indie label, Spotlight, in June 2023, aiming to support and publish third-party games outside its own studio. Under the Waves, an emotional diving adventure, was the first game released under the Spotlight label.
