Moriarty the Patriot, the world-class crime and mystery anime series, will be coming back this year with a big blast. Although this big blast is actually very small and short, when we get to hear from our favorite anime, then everything looks fine. The series is once again going to air on the channels with its 2 episode OVA. It was officially released a Japanese manga series written by Ryosuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi. The manga was published by Shueisha and serialized in Jump Square manga magazine. It was released under the shonen demography and released on 4th August 2016.
Good works should always be kept going, and this same goes for Moriarty the Patriot manga series. It is still releasing a new chapter, and it till now has been collected into 16 tankobon volumes. After the end of the official anime series, all the fans lost hopes to get to hear from the series again. But thanks to this surprise from the creators, we are fortunately going to have an OVA of two episodes. A trailer for the OVA is already out and didn’t fail to supply the fans with the right amount of excitement. About Moriarty the Patriot
After the manga of Moriarty and Patriot got really famous, creators decided to bless us with an anime adaptation. The official anime adaption of the manga was produced by Production I.G. Studio. It was directed by Kazuya Nomura, who is known for his works like “Robotics; Notes”, “Blackfox”, “Dennou Coil” and others. Go Zappa (Yu-Gi-Oh!) and Taku Kishimoto (Haikyuu!) together given the screenplay for the series. The music of the anime that made every scene more lively was given by Asami Tachibana, known for her popular works in “Haikyuu!!”, “Darling in the Fraxx”, “Owari no Seraph”, and others.
The series was released on 11th October 2022 and ended on 27th June 2021 with 24 episodes in total. It was aired on Tokyo MX, BS11, and MBS. As for its international airing, Funimation was given the rights.
Plot
Every anime series gains its popularity due to its wonderful plot, and the same happened with this one too. Its plot is set up back in the 19th Century when the British Empire was the greatest power in the world. Where other countries were unhappy to be its colony, British citizens were too who hated the white-collar people of the country. Society is divided among different classes where one class is lower than the other.
Due to nobles of the society, a normal citizen has no chance to rise up on higher posts. The story centers around two young characters named William James and Louis James, who are two orphans. However, they got adopted by Albert Moriarty’s Family and realized that both of them hated the corrupt British Nobility.
Both of them likes to be addressed as “Crime Consultant” and decided to eliminate one of Albert’s blood relative. They schemed to kill William and burn down the family estate. Their ultimate aim is to take down this cruel cast system from the system by any means. As they progress to make everything good, they come across this character named Sherlock. James Moriarty developed an interest in him and decided to frame him in the murder of Williams. The series is packed with mystery, thrill, and action, so it can be a good one to binge if you haven’t streamed it yet.
Moriarty the Patriot two-episode OVA announced
Coming back to the main topic, it was only last year when we got to stream the last episode of the series. But now it seems to be a very long time to fans which is quite natural. However, none of the fans are required to be unhappy now since the Moriarty the Patriot two-episode OVA is already confirmed.
The first OVA is titled “Yuri no Tsuioku” or “Recollection of Lily”. It will take us into a plot that is not mentioned in the manga, making it super exciting. A case to find the person responsible for destroying the aristocratic painter in the bath will stay in the center. As usual, James Moriarty will be hunting the culprit.

As for the OVA number two, it is titled “Moriarty-ke no Kyujitsu” or “Moriarty Family Holiday”. This one will adapt chapter 32 of manga, and based on the manga, this one is going to be more amusing than the other. It will take place during a tea party at the Moriarty estate where Willian and Louis are forced to play gentlemen.
The trailer of these two episodes is out so, so the visuals look very appealing. Moriarty the Patriot OVA is scheduled for 27th April 2022 in Japan. As for an international release, things are yet to get declared. Whenever a word about it is out, we will update you first, so stay tuned.
