On April 1, it was stated that the filming of the OTT series “Money Game” would commence in May. Money Game is an eight-episode series combining stories from two webtoons- “Pie Game” and “Money Game.” These two webtoons were directed by Bae Jin Soo. The series “Money Game” is scripted and directed by Han Jae Rim. Popular movies such as “Emergency Declaration”, “The King” and “Physiognomy” were directed by Han Jae Rim.
Studio N, who led the imaging business of webtoons such as “Sweet Home”, “Our Beloved Summer”, and “Yumi’s Cells,” will lead the production of this new series. Studio N has also produced two other movies directed by Han Jae Rim, such as “Emergency Declaration” and “The King.” The upcoming series “Money Game” has such an amazing cast with great actors who have previously marked their name in history. The fabulous cast includes IU, Ryu Joon Yeol, and Park Jung Min. The actors have confirmed their presence in the series for the same. Interesting Storyline that will keep the viewers on the edge
The series name “Money Game” itself gives off the main idea of the story, which is ‘Money Builds As Time Passes’. Eight participants take part in a reality show where the winner(the one who survives) will be awarded. The 8 people are to stay at the studio that consists of only concrete walls. If they can hang in there for 100 days, they can divide the winning prize money of 44.8 billion won equally. But, everything they spend on, including necessities like food, water, electricity, etc., costs 1,000 times more than normal prices and is deducted from the winning money.
This show is nerve-wracking as participants kill one another to survive till the end. Of course, they have to cut down on their expenses. So, they will kill and betray each other. It will keep the viewers on edge. Also, this series talks about survival, wherein the participants of the game show cooperate and betray one another to survive. This show takes place in a setting where the participants are severed from society.
Money Game shows the mental battle and trauma that the participants undergo to stay in the game. They also experience wide emotional confrontations that they have to overcome, which stem from betrayal. The participants take part in such a game because of the prize money, and there must be a reason as to why they need the money. This will be uncovered only when we watch the show.
Meet the cast behind the mastermind of the series “money game.”
The crew consists of the director and scriptwriter Han Jae Rim. And the eight participants are IU, Ryu Joon Yeol, Park Jung Min, Moon Jeong Hee, Lee Yul-Em, Lee Joo Young, Park Hae Joon, and Bae Sung Woo. Ryu Jun Yeol worked with the director in the movie “The King.” Park Jung Min was famous for Netflix’s Hellbound. Park Hae Joon was very much critically acclaimed for his role in the drama “The World Of The Married.” Moon Jeong Hee starred in the k-drama “Mama.”
Lee Yul-Em was portrayed in the dramas like “My First Love” and “Queen: Love and War.” Lee Joo Young was famous for her role in “Itaewon Class.” Bae Sung Woo was also part of the movie “The King.” Then there is IU, whose name has reached nooks and corners of the world. Her famous drama is “Hotel Del Luna.” Many feel that this is a very ‘fulfilling cast’ as all the actors had been a part of hit dramas or films.
The release date of the series “Money Game” is not out yet. The filming of the series will start in May. However, fans can’t wait for the thriller series to be out because of its one-of-a-kind storyline!
