Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Episode 1 Recap

When Suletta Mercury spots a trapped astronaut while traveling to the Asticassia School of Technology, she launches her Gundam Aerial to save them. She is headbutted by the astronaut in the cockpit, who claims she was attempting to flee. When Suletta does reach the school, she learns that the girl she saved was Miorine Rembran.

She eventually learns Miorine’s motivation for running away: Guel Jeturk, a well-liked but volatile duelist, was given the right to ask for her hand in marriage. Delling Rembran, Miorine’s father, is the leader of the Benerit Group, which founded the school and controlled some of the most influential businesses in all of space.

Additionally, he created the school’s policies such that anything, from minor apologies to winning his own daughter’s hand in marriage, can be resolved through mobile suit duels. Suletta slaps Guel and agrees to his challenge for a duel when he turns up to ruin Miorine’s greenhouse and make her live with him.

In order to confirm Guel’s position as the heir to Delling’s business empire, his father Vim places a device on Delling’s shuttle as Guel sets to combat Suletta. Guel fights Miorine despite being shocked to learn that she took the Aerial to confront him herself.

Despite Miorine’s determination, she struggles with Aerial’s controls and falls, but Suletta arrives on a hovercraft and forcibly takes control of the cockpit, unlocking Aerial’s primary functions and shredding Guel’s Dilanza into pieces. Soon after learning that Guel lost the duel, Vim cancels the assassination plan. According to school regulations, Suletta not only receives the Guel’s Holder uniform and symbol but also marries Miorine.
