Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, the latest installment in its free-to-play team combat series. The game was revealed during the Gundam Games 40th Anniversary livestream on October 28, 2026, with a new announcement trailer showcasing its realistic 3D graphics and large-scale Mobile Suit battles.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The game will support cross-play, allowing players on both platforms to fight together. Although Bandai Namco has confirmed the platforms and several gameplay features, it has yet to announce a release date.

The upcoming sequel builds on the tactical combat established by Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2. It will introduce an expanded selection of Mobile Suits, refined team-based mechanics, and a new Battle Assist feature designed to make complex combat maneuvers easier to execute.

Players can also expect battles that combine giant robots with infantry operations, preserving a defining feature of the series.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 Introduces New Combat Features

The upcoming game will feature high-definition Mobile Suit models, detailed character avatars, and realistic battle environments. Its launch roster will draw from the Universal Century timeline and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, with additional Gundam series planned for future updates.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed that fan-favorite grunt units, including the BuCUE, will join the roster as the game receives additional content.

Combat will receive several refinements, including SP Skills for every Mobile Suit. These abilities are designed to emphasize each unit’s distinctive characteristics, giving players more ways to approach battles based on their chosen machine.

Another major addition is Battle Assist, a new feature intended to simplify complicated maneuvers and make combos easier to perform. An updated user interface will further distinguish the experience from its predecessor.

However, success will require more than simply overpowering opponents with a Mobile Suit. Players must coordinate with teammates, manage battlefield objectives, and adapt their tactics to changing combat situations.

Infantry Operations Remain Important in Gundam Battle Operation 3

Like previous entries, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 will allow players to leave their Mobile Suits and fight on foot. Infantry operations will remain an important part of the tactical experience, offering alternative ways to influence the outcome of a match.

Players can plant bombs at enemy bases, request support fire, and secure strategic objectives. These mechanics create opportunities to turn the tide of battle without relying entirely on direct Mobile Suit combat.

The combination of infantry tactics and large-scale robot battles remains central to the series’ identity. Players who understand when to fight inside their machines and when to operate on foot will have an advantage over opponents who neglect battlefield objectives.

Bandai Namco has released an announcement trailer alongside the reveal. Further details about the release date and planned content remain unconfirmed. Fans can follow the game’s official channels for future announcements.
