As we have seen previously, Minato and Shintaro are leaving together, which gives off an official couple vibe to the audience. Episode 9 opens up with Minato riding the room while asking Shintaro what recent birthday he wants from him. Shinatro says he is fine with anything he gives to him.
After a while, he comes back, kisses Minato on the cheeks, and says he wants Minato san as a birthday present. Minato shakes him off for his cheesy behaviors and asks him seriously, but Shintaro’s answer remains the same. At last, he leaves for university, saying I am fine with any present. Elsewhere, Asuka receives a document package, which he opens very nervously. It might be his test results.
Meanwhile, at work, Minato receives a poster made by his students as a memento as summers are coming to an end and their workshops too.
He talked with the coach about meeting next summer, and suddenly, an idea struck his mind. Asuka excitedly goes to Sakuma Shu to show his test results. To his surprise, Asuka got an A grade in all the subjects. And as per Sakuma Shu’s promise to Asuka, they both went on a date.
The next day, Minato texts Shintaro about not coming home tonight, which makes him a little sad. But to his surprise, he saw a birthday decoration at home and got to know that not coming home tonight was just an excuse to surprise him with a birthday party.
Both enjoy the birthday party on their own. Lastly, the time for gifts, Minato gave Shintaor a matching bracelet gift that had their names engraved on it. The bracelet makes Shintaro emotionally move as he always wanted to have a matching accessory.
