Miley Cyrus marks the release of her latest collaboration with Pharrell Williams! The 31-year-old singer took to Instagram on Friday at midnight to reveal a teaser of her new track with the renowned musician and producer.
Titled “Doctor (Work It Out),” the joint post with Williams, aged 50, showcased a snippet of their musical creation.
Cyrus sang in the video while moving her shoulders and arms to the beat:
“Let me work it out/hey, ooh/Let me work it out/yeah/Let little mama work it out/oh, ooh, ooh/Wanna work it out/Mmm (wanna work it out).”
Furthermore, Miley Cyrus treated fans to a sneak peek of the upcoming music video on her Instagram Story, as part of a countdown to the song’s release on Thursday night. She also reposted a segment previously shared earlier in the week, featuring herself tapping her legs at the video’s onset while singing,
“I could be your doctor/Well, I could be your doctor/And I could be your nurse/I think I see the problem/It’s only gon’ get worse/The medicine she gave you, well, that will never work/I need to rock you, baby, before your body bursts/Let me work it out.”
In her caption, she emphasized the release date of “Doctor (Work It Out)” alongside Pharrell’s handle: “Doctor (Work It Out) MARCH 1 @pharrell.”
Meanwhile, Williams, who had previously collaborated with the former Hannah Montana star on his 2014 track “Come Get It Bae,” reciprocated the excitement by sharing Cyrus’ photos on his Instagram story.
Additionally, he posted a snapshot of the track on Spotify and a teaser of the music video.
In the music video, Cyrus prominently showcased her arm tattoos while donning a variety of glamorous ensembles. Released on Thursday, the video depicted her in outfits ranging from a sparkly minidress to a silver sequin cropped top and shorts, as well as a large blue fluffy jacket.
Throughout the video, Cyrus could be seen singing and dancing against various backdrops, with close-up shots capturing her mouth as she delivered the lyrics of the new track.
Furthermore, the pop superstar paid homage to the ’70s icon Raquel Welch by adopting a hairstyle reminiscent of Welch’s look at the 2024 Grammys in February.
It was previously reported that the voluminous hairdo was created by Cyrus’ longtime hairstylist Bob Recine.
“I’ve been working with Miley for a long time and tonight we wanted to create different than last year, with a style that felt like it had a ’70s, Barbarella feel while still having a modern, punk edge,” Recine told. “By creating a big hair look, while still leaving some of the teasing visible, it allows the look to maintain a fresh, sexy feeling.”
