On Tuesday, Shueisha Games, in collaboration with Momo-Pi Game Studio, announced that Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions will be released for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows and Steam on March 1.
Originally released by Shueisha Games in July 2022, the game is set to receive a physical version in the West in the second quarter of 2024 through Red Art Games.
Video Games Plus will handle distribution in North America. The physical release will come with a special edition package, available exclusively through Red Art Games’ online store. This special edition includes a sleeve featuring alternate cover art, a double-sided poster, and a print copy of the “Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions – The Beginning” prequel manga.
Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions offers support for multiple languages, including Japanese, English, and French. The game features eight characters from popular Shonen Jump+ manga, including Loid Forger from Spy×Family, “Tis Time for “Torture” from Princess’ Princess, Chloe from Ghost Reaper Girl, Ushio Kofune from Summer Time Rendering, Kafka Hibino from Kaiju No. 8, Chrome from Heart Gear, Slime from Slime Life, and Gabimaru from Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.
Shueisha Games provides the following description of the game’s storyline:
Damien, an exceptionally creative and imaginative teenager born into a binational French-Japanese family, faces a world-shattering moment when his parents decide to move from France to Japan, a country he mostly knows from the manga he avidly reads.
To navigate the anxiety of being in a completely new place, Damien transforms into his superhero alter ego, Captain Velvet Meteor. Drawing on the power of his imagination, he confronts his fears and matures by enlisting the help of his favorite Jump+ characters on a quest to escape a mysterious planet and an unknown monster army.
The manga adaptation of the game, written by Rinaldo Wirz and illustrated by Masato Ichishiki, premiered on Shonen Jump+ and MANGA Plus in August 2022.
