On December 29th, 2013, Michael Schumacher was seriously injured while skiing in the French Alps with his son Mick, who was 14 at the time. He slipped and hit his head on a rock when crossing an off-piece portion while wearing a ski helmet, seriously injuring his head. The world champion was brought to the Grenoble Medical Center.
According to doctors, if Schumacher hadn’t been wearing protective equipment and hadn’t started two operations right away, he would have died. He was put into a medically induced coma following a catastrophic brain injury.
