Michael Bolton, in a heartfelt note, let his fans know that he would be taking a setback for a few months concerning his health issues. In the note that was shared on Friday, he mentioned that he recently got diagnosed with a brain tumor, which made him take this break from the stage.
Per the note, the brain tumor was recovered just before the holidays, and he had to go through immediate surgery. Though the surgery was a success, he still has to take a break from touring or stage performances to recover ASAP!
Due to the needed recovery after the surgery, Michael has announced his temporary break from touring as well and will be taking the next couple of months into account for his recovery.
Why has Michael Bolton taken a setback?
The singer known for his pop-rock ballads has just come out of an immediate surgery for a brain tumor, after which he has made a note that he will be ‘devoting’ the next couple of months to his recovery while taking a ‘temporary break’ from touring.
The 70-year-old Michael had written on his Instagram post, “Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success.”
Further, he mentioned that now he will be ‘recuperating at home’ and is going to be surrounded by ‘tremendous love and support’ from his family while ‘devoting’ the next couple of months to his recovery and taking a ‘temporary break’ from touring.
For canceling his tour, he shared his condolences with his fans and said it has always been the hardest thing for him to disappoint them or to postpone a show, following which he assured them that he is working hard to accelerate his recovery and get back to performing soon.
In his note, Bolton wrote, “Know that I am keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can,” and wrote, “Much love, always MB,” while concluding the note.
Last year, Michael shed some light on the positivity that lies in the dark through his recently released album ‘Spark of Light.’ While opening up about it, he went on to say that during the pandemic, all of us were observing friends and family and seeing that they needed some light during such a dark and oppressive time. We were all just carrying layers of fear every day.
Michael pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic period was like finding inspiration through it. On this, he said, “And so we started to feel a sense of responsibility to deliver hope and promise and all these feelings, and that same feeling became elusive and started to become a feel-good record.”
According to Michael, he went on “too seriously” about himself in the early days, and now he has learned to lean into humor and enjoy life more. He also said that “the fun starts happening when you let go of things. I don’t feel like I am slowing down yet.”
Since the Grammy winner, who has been in the industry for decades, is a dad to three daughters, Isa, Holly, and Taryn, whom he shares with his ex-wife Maureen, and also a grandfather to six grandchildren, he finds the most joy in his family life.
While referring to his daughters, Bolten said, “I am filled with more love and pride in my girls as they raise their own families.”
Michael makes a note that “love is the most important thing, the center of the universe. There’s nothing greater.” the people he loves bring him a lot of happiness, and that’s the most important thing that really never changes.
