We will have Joo Hyuk Jung’s trouble taken care of by Hyuk Jin and Lee Jin as he recovers. The action manhwa will be focusing on the street fights now that a heavy arc has just taken place. And this time, we will be focusing on one of the support characters and his relationship with his family in Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 165.
It is clear by now that action series focuses heavily on the themes of family and their importance. Sure, it started with Lee Jin coming back to South Korea after the return of his memory and fitting in. But even then, it showed us what lengths the MC would go to protect his sister from any threats.
It also helped that Lee Jin is an ex-mercenary while also having a muddling past that makes him &mysterious. The intertwining of old and new lives makes for a good combination of mystery and slice of life in this manhwa. However, the next chapter will focus on the fighting aspect and the relationship between the two brothers.
Spoilers
Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 165 will show us what was happening behind the scenes that led to Jung Hyuk’s hospitalization. The younger brother of Jin Hyuk makes an appearance for just a few panels, all bruised and bandaged. And the next time we see him, he is hospitalized and dazed, his entire face covered with him on a hospital bed.
Jin Hyuk was troubled as to what could have caused his brother this much pain and agony. However, Lee Jin’s friend didn’t have to wait long as his brother’s phone soon started beeping with texts. By going over the message, he learned how his brother got hospitalized in the first place, and then came the call of the people responsible.
Jin Hyuk’s brother had taken part in an underground fight game with people betting on him. Or at least that is what’s suggested to us when Jin Hyuk reaches the place where he would meet the caller. However, they want him to take the place of his brother and bet so that they can win the money that they lost on Jung.
Recap
Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 164 started with Shin Yuna saying how hungry she was and starting the discussion on what to eat. Two of the side characters are excited to talk about what food to eat and what to look forward to, except one. We see a guy covered in bruises coming their way, and Hyuk Jin getting tense at the sight of him.
The guy with bruises was none other than his younger brother, and Hyuk Jin demanded to know what happened to him. However, his younger brother refused to say anything, but Hyuk Jin was stubborn too and asked till he got an answer. The rest of the group decided to leave for the game cafe and not meddle in their affair.
Hyuk Jin clears up the matter with his younger brother and joins his friends later to play in the cafe. They had a fun time there, a slice-of-life moment, some would say, until a call from the hospital came. Hyuk Jin stormed for the place right after, not telling his friends what the matter was or calling them later to fill in.
